Why I’m Switching to Gmail – May 12, 2004

  • "I want all my personal data accessible anywhere anytime.
  • Privacy concerns are overblown... I'm more concerned with services that model me and my relationships without my permission or control.
  • It's the best webmail app there is. Simple, usable and powerful."
This is great and all, but as the one review with a person behind it, my comments are flooded with poor souls looking for Gmail Invites. Please understand that I am handing them out to friends and family. I'd start handing them out, but how do I know that commenters are not spammers?

Very cool that they have blog post reviews.

Isn't gmx.net a much better service? It has everything GMail has. It is free, and you get 1GB storage. It has a very strong spam filter and you have pop3 support. You can even define your own filters and lots more. GMail doesn't do the best for people who need email. GMail is about searching emails and using it for advertisment purposes.

I want Gmail! How do I finagle an invitation for me and my wife too?

Oddpost was fine but now Yahoo has bought it and it will go away at some point.

Help!
