After a week of conferencing, it was wonderful to decompress yesterday by coaching my daughter's soccer game, taking my son for a train ride in Tilden Park.
We visited some family friends who have opened up a seafood restaurant in Richmond, Boulevard Fish. Its a real immigrant story of a Chinese-Estonian family who built a successful venture in a bad neighborhood. They hired some of original staff and remixed recipes from when it was a soul seafood place years ago and now people travel for miles to get their fried fish, collard greens and yams. Unfortunately the owner was held at gunpoint at one point and now there are bars on the counter. But they have built a unique and profitable business with commendable courage.
Today I am attempting to fix my wife's computer, found the Gmail Drive shell extension to be helpful for some things, but ran into the 10MB filesize limit. Otherwise, I'm stuck here in Windows hell on an otherwise beautiful day.
