My Sister Got a Job Through LinkedIn

Its one thing to be a Social Networking nut. Its another thing when these services work for you (helped me for connecting with hiring and media contacts).

But its a whole other thing when it helps your friends and loved ones. My sister was contacted by a hiring manager through LinkedIn, connected by referral through 3 degrees of separation -- and got a job as a writer.

She was laid off by Wired News, where she used to be an editor, in a round of Lycuts. Its just a contractor position at first, but how cool. These things work.
