Brian Ingerson Joins Socialtext

Socialtext is pleased to announce the hiring of our first employee, Brian Ingerson, a leading Perl and Open Source developer.

Brian invented the popular open source wiki -- Kwiki -- known for its ease of install (Ben Hammersely: Fastest wiki install *ever*), clean code, modularity and extensibility.

Oh, and he just started a blog and is a really cool guy:

Some of his open source accomplishments include: Inline.pm - binding over 15 languages to Perl, YAML - A data serialization language for all scripting languages, and FreePAN.org - A CPAN-like archive for all languages.

Brian occasionally writes for O'Reilly's Perl.com: CGI: Kwiki, For Perl Programmers: only, Pathologically Poluting Perl.

Brian is a regular speaker at Perl conferences and recently presented on Kwiki at the O'Rielly Open Source Convention. With Ward Cunningham, inventor of the wiki and Socialtext advisor, he presented on the Framework for Integrated Tests (fit).

More to come from a growing team...
